Met Eireann is today warning of -4C temperatures over the coming days, with a new weather alert now in place.
A Status Yellow alert for low temperature and ice will kick in at 10pm on Thursday and remain in place until 10am on Friday.
The national forecaster is recommending caution on the roads, particularly in the dark evenings and pre-dawn hours.
