Met Eireann is today warning of a major change for the worse in the weather on Thursday, with heavy rain and plummeting temperatures.
According to the national forecaster, Thursday and Friday will be rather wet and blustery days, with overnight temperatures sinking to 0C.
Early forecasts point to a more settled and milder weekend, though this is yet uncertain.
