The national forecaster has warned of ‘bitterly cold’ weather ahead, and has issued two weather warnings covering 12 counties.
A warning for snow and ice is in place for Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Louth, and Leitrim.
Elsewhere, a wind warning covers Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry, and Limerick.
Both warnings will remain in effect until Wednesday night.
