Tributes paid to motorcyclist who has died after single vehicle crash

A motorcyclist aged in his 50s has died following a single-vehicle crash in Kilcock, Co Kildare, this morning.

The collision occurred at around 10.45am in the Killick area, reports RTE.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The coroner has been informed, reports RTE.

The road was closed to allow for a forensic examination but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, reports RTE.

They are especially keen to speak with anyone who may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, from the area between 10.30am and 11am.
