Computing giant Microsoft trialled a three-day weekend in Japan over the summer, and productivity went up by a massive 39.9%.
All workers in Microsoft Japan enjoyed an extra day off every week for the entire summer, while their pay remained the same.
Japanese workers are notorious for their low levels of job satisfaction, so Microsoft decided to try out something to improve that notion, and the results speak for themselves. The company may now roll out same trial to other locations around the world.
