An study of the data shows that this is 6% more than the number reported at this time in 2022 (13,318) and 10% more than the number recorded at this time last year (12,772).

On a cloudy and wet day, a group of youngsters were among those seen being carried ashore in Dover, Kent, in calm water conditions, reports Breaking News.

Groups of people, some covered in blankets, were observed being taken from lifeboats and Border Force boats while donning life jackets.

With the most recent crossings, 484 migrant landings have been documented over the course of two days in the Channel since Sir Keir Starmer was elected UK prime minister in the wake of Labour’s victory in last week’s general election.

However, Wednesday’s stormy weather in the Channel could make it impossible to try a crossing for the third day in a succession.

29,437 migrants made the trek to the UK last year, a 36% decrease from a peak 45,774 in 2022, reports Breaking News.
