The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Arts Catherine Martin, has said pilot live events could take place in June and July.
Speaking about the possibility of the return of live gigs, Martin said the Government are drawing up plans that could see events take place as early as next month.
Martin said that her department is currently working with the Minister for Sport Jack Chambers to discuss the possibility of the public returning to live events.
It is expected that any events will focus on a range of performances including rock, classical and comedy.
However despite the prospect of indoor and outdoor events being held, it is expected that gatherings will be limited to a few hundred people or just over one thousand.
Martin said that the roles of antigen testing and the sale of tickets to such events are also being discussed.
