Minister for Finance says there will be no increase on income tax in the Budget

The Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe has said income tax will not be increased in October’s Budget.

Speaking about reports that income tax could be increased next month, the Minister for Finance said that an increase was unlikely given that personal tax receipts have held up well.

However the Finance Minister did state that returns for this month will prove crucial as it always does in terms of the outlining of next year’s budget.

He added that our economy is building momentum despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
