Pregnant Australian woman arrested for supporting anti-lockdown protest on Facebook

Frightening footage has shown a 28-year-old pregnant Australian woman being arrested after she allegedly organised a protest event for Saturday that breaches the government’s Draconian coronavirus restrictions.

The arrest of Zoe Buhler, who is heavily pregnant, was streamed live on Facebook when Victoria Police entered her home in the suburbs of the city of Ballarat, with an arrest warrant AU news reports.

Ms Buhler offered to take down the Facebook post as police handcuffed her to avoid arrest, but this was to no avail as one officer saying they believe that she is “committed” to the protest.

The pregnant woman’s partner and two other children look on as she is taken by the police.

Under the State of Victoria’s stage three Covid-19 lockdown procedures people are only allowed to gather outdoors with only one other person from their household but nearly 9,000 people have expressed support for the anti-lockdown protest in Ballarat this Saturday on Facebook.
