Minister for Health says Covid-19 vaccines will still be handed out at the Beacon Hospital

The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has said that Covid-19 vaccines will still be handed out at the Beacon Hospital.

Speaking to RTE News, Donnelly said that the vaccine roll-out programme will continue at the hospital despite the hospital handing out vaccines to teachers at a private school in Co Wicklow.

Although the Minister for Health said that stopping the roll-out of vaccines at the hospital would send out a clear message, it would actually cause a scenario where we are cutting our nose despite our face.

Donnelly said the hospital is helping with the roll-out at their own cost, but stated that a HSE lead will be appointed to oversee the vaccination programme at the hospital.

He added that hospitals have been given clear guidelines and they should follow them as our main target is to vaccinate our most vulnerable in society.
