Minister for Justice Helen McEntee to take six months of paid maternity leave from the end of April




The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has confirmed that the Minister for Justice Helen McEntee will take six months paid maternity leave from April 30th.

Announcing the news today, the Taoiseach continued that the Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphreys will take responsibility for the Department from May 1st until October 31st.

It is understood that Humphreys will also continue in her current role during this period, whilst a number McEntee will be provided limited administrative supports in order to carry out any issues that may arise in the meantime.

The Taoiseach also confirmed that the Government is pursuing reform that will facilitate maternity leave within the programme for Government.
