Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Michael McGrath expresses his contempt for business that do not check Covid certs, seemingly unaware that a piece of digital data does not prevent infection or transmission of a virus

According to RTE, Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Michael McGrath has expressed his contempt for businesses that do not check Covid certs.

The minister appears to remain unaware that showing a piece of digital data on a smartphone does not prevent infection or transmission of a virus. This is akin to an individual waving a phone around with their Candy Crush high score on the screen, believing that this will prevent catching a cold or any other airborne virus.

It is also well known that vaccination against coronavirus does not provide any protection against infection or transmission, thus rendering any certificate moot.
