Miserable weather ahoy, with heavy rain, hail, and subzero temperatures during the weekend, but change is on the way

The weekend’s weather is shaping up to be rather miserable, with heavy rain, hail, and subzero temperatures forecast for the next 48h or so, but Met Eireann has indicated that conditions are set to improve greatly by the middle of next week.

Today, Saturday, will be a wet and windy day, with daytime temperatures reaching 10C-11C.

Sunday will see a mix of showers and sunny spells, with similar daytime temperatures. Sunday night is forecast to be a cold one though, with lows of -2C or -3C likely and the possibility of hail showers.

The good news is that weather conditions are forecast to improve greatly by the middle of next week as high pressure builds up.
