There’s been a warning to the public after the owner of a missing Eurasian eagle owl has advised people to stay well away from his bird.
The warning is issued to the public, especially to residents in Kildare, saying that the animal may pose a risk to pets and small children.
It is understood that the owl, named Tank, went missing from its home in Curragh, Kildare, in recent days. The breed can reach a wingspan of over 6 ft, and has powerful talons that can kill a deer.
Tank’s owner says that if people spot it, they should not try to approach it or pick it up, but call Gardai or relevant authorities.
