There was some good news for fans of the hit Channel 4 series Derry Girls as the broadcaster confirmed that the show will return for a third series.
The confirmation of the third series cane after the current second series concluded on Tuesday night in a two hour finale.
In a tweet posted immediately after the show, the Channel 4 official twitter page said: “That might be it for series 2, but don’t worry it will be returning for series 3!”.

Meanwhile series writer Lisa McGee said she was delighted that her band of eejits would continue on their adventures.
The series which centre’s around a group of teenage girls growing up in the 1990s Derry, has received widespread critical acclaim since it aired last year.
