A transgender person who was born a man and who now identifies as a woman broke four separate women’s weightlifting records in May at the same event provoking disgust and anger from weightlifters and women’s advocates.
Mary Gregory was born a man but recently started identifying as a woman after allegedly failing to make waves in the men’s weightlifting championships and competed in the female event. Gregory was competing at the 100% Raw Weightlifting Federation and won nine out of the nine events.
Yahoo sports reports that Gregory set records in Masters world squat, open world bench press and masters world deadlift.
In recent years men who identify as women have been dominating more and more female sports with some commentators including mixed martial arts expert and comedian Joe Rogan calling out the growing trend for its utter absurdity.
Recently British rapper Zuby exposed the ridiculousness of allowing men to compete in women’s sports, particularly weightlifting, by self-identifying as woman and breaking multiple female weightlifting records.
In other sports such as Tennis legendary player Martina Navratilova also called out the unfairness of allowing men who pretend their women to play against real women tennis players and “win everything in sight and perhaps earn a small fortune, and then reverse his decision and go back to making babies if he so desires.”
Online social justice activists, particularly on twitter, as per usual, have attacked professional sports people with vile comments and even threats of physical violence for expressing opinions on Gregory.
