There has been a very mixed reaction to Micheal Martin announcing that a number of restrictions will be introduced in counties Kildare, Offaly and Laois.
Some people are thinking that the measures are too drastic while others say they’re warranted.
The Taoiseach confirmed that residents will not be able to leave their county unless it is for certain work or essential services.
The Taoiseach also confirmed that restraunts, bars, cinemas, gyms will be closed from midnight tonight.
Although a number of restrictions will be put in place the three counties won’t be placed on an official lockdown.
Residents in the three counties will only be able to attend indoor gatherings with a maximum of 6 people and 15 outdoors.
The Taoiseach added that creches and childcare facilities will remain open as well as essential medical services.
