More heavy rain on the way: Weather warnings in effect

Rain, rain, rain keeps falling on the plain.

Met Eireann has issued a weather alert due to heavy rainfall for 16 counties and also the whole of Munster and Connacht, with localized flooding likely in many areas.

An orange alert will be in place for Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath, and Monaghan from 6am tomorrow until 9pm on Friday, with two separate spells of heavy rain (20-60mm) expected.

Elsewhere, a yellow warning has been issued for Munster, Connacht and also for counties Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, and Donegal. Rainfall levels expected there are 25-40mm, with possible local flooding.

This yellow warning will remain in p!ace from midnight until 8pm tomorrow evening.
