The mother of a teenager who was brutally attacked in a Dublin park has called on the attackers to come forward and apologize, reports The Mirror.
As first revealed earlier this week, a 13-year-old boy was initially placed in the ICU after he was knocked to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked by a group of youths in Bushy Park last Thursday.
A horrific attack that took place in broad daylight left the young man terrified and he is now considering transferring to another school.
And now that Garda are closing in on the perpetrators, the child’s mother has updated this document on her son’s condition.
He has been recovering really well but was told today by the doctor that he needs to keep his left arm and fingers mobilised for a further two weeks and no sport for two months,” reports The Mirror.
In a message to the attackers, the mother urged them to come forward and accept the consequences.
“My only message is that I hope they face some adequate justice and yes some apologies would be a good start. They need to understand that what they have done could have lifetime consequences for my son,” the message said, reports The Mirror.
The boy’s distraught mother had previously published a shocking photo in the newspaper of her son lying in a hospital bed – bloody and terrified after being repeatedly kicked in the head by a group of teenagers.
“It was just a normal day and my son was meeting his friends in a park that should be safe in broad daylight. They would take short breaks and then start again. Some of them had sticks and they were kicking him in the head. He was just standing there with one of his best friends when a male who is much older than him came from the side and he punched my son in the head and knocked him to the ground. Then a gang of them beat him up in a brutal attack that lasted 20 minutes and had three rounds,” the mother said, reports The Mirror.
