Motorists have been advised to proceed with caution this morning as dense fog is expected in as many as 18 counties this morning.
The warning comes after Met Eireann issued an orange satus fog warning which will remain in place until 8am this morning.
It is understood the warning is in place for the following counties: Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Tipperary, Wexford, Dublin, Laois, Kildare, Offaly, Wicklow Westmeath, Meath, Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Clare, Limerick and Cork.
