Munster beaten by Saracens as Champions Cup dream ends




Any hope of an all Irish final in rugby’s Champions Cup has ended as Munster were defeated 32-16 by Saracens in Coventry this afternoon.

Munster who were to looking book their place in the final in Newcastle, were dealt a major blow as a strong start from the English side in the second half, effectively ended the dream for the men in red.

Saracens who will either face Leinster or Toulose on May 11th, made Munster pay as the Irish side gave away a number of costly penalties along with two key tries in the second half.

Although Munster had a strong start and held firm in the first half, they were unable to keep up their impressive display for the full 80 minutes and and two tries from Rhodes and Vinipola proved to be key.
