Police in the North have launched a murder investigation following the death of a 68-year-old man at his home in Co Down.
The investigation comes after the man named as Michael Kerr was found at the bottom of stairs in his house in Bangor on Tuesday night.
Police say Mr Kerr sustained a number of serious injuries including head and facial fractures.
Officers investigating the case say a murder investigation has now been launched.
