Those of you of a certain age will remember Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue starting off their careers in the Aussie hit soap, Neighbours.

Numerous stars have come and gone through the Australian show’s doors over the years but its popularity wavered in recent years.

All that has been put to bed in 2019 however, as Toadie and Sonia embarked on a storyline that has been followed around the world.

Sonia (Eve Morey) tragically died from cancer on last night’s episode. Neighbours ended up trending in Australia, the UK and Ireland for some time.

The storyline has generated massive ratings for the ailing show and a resurgence is now more than likely as people tune in to see what will unfold in the coming weeks.

There have been calls for both Ryan Moloney (Toadie) and obviously Eve Morey to get ‘Logie’ awards for their acting skills.
