New figures published by the Department of Housing has shown that there has been a slight decrease in the number of people being homeless across Ireland.
According to the new figures for the month of April ther are 9,335 people without permanent accommodation.
The figures show that there was a drop of 572 people with 290 fewer adults, 282 fewer dependants in emergency accommodation.
It is believed that the fall in numbers mat have been attributed to the fact that a rent freeze and a ban on evictions was introduced in March following the Covid-19 outbreak.
