Just after the announcing of processed meats linked with causing cancer, scientists are now warning people about the dangers of cooking with vegetable oils.
After many experiments, new research shows that frying food in sunflower and corn oil releases toxic chemicals called aldehydes which are linked to cancer, heart disease, dementia and other illnesses.
Professor of bio-analytical chemistry, Martin Grootveld said that in his research he examined a fish and chip meal fried in vegetable oil. His results showed that the meal contained as much as 100 to 200 more aldehydes than the daily limit by the World Health Organisation.
Experts are now recommending that we cook with olive oil, coconut oil and even butter or lard as they produce much lower levels of the toxic chemical.
