Police in Thailand have begun an investigation after a newborn baby was found abandoned in a field covered in ant and mosquito bites.
According to reports in Thailand, the day old infant was found abandoned with her unbiblical cord still attached in a field in the Ladkrabang district of Bangkok.
It is believed that the baby girl who is now receiving treatment at Krabang Hospital was found after local residents called emergency services after hearing baby crying.
Police investigating the incident say the baby girl was found with a rash and a number bite marks on her body following a search operation in the area.
They also say they are working to identify the baby girl’s parents who they think may live nearby and are checking CCTV footage the area.
It is not yet known whether any charges will be brought against the parents, but police say investigations are currently ongoing.
