Newly appointed Children’s Minister backs the idea that teenagers under 16 should be able to change their gender

Newly appointed Children’s Minister Roderic O’Gorman is reportedly backing the idea that teenagers under 16 should be able to change their gender, if parents or guardians agree, and a GP approves too.

Meanwhile, the new Government is said to be considering legislation to allow teenagers aged 16 and over to change gender at their discretion.

Amendments might later be introduced to allow teenagers younger than 16 to also change gender, with the conditions described above.
