A couple spent their first night as husband and wife in police cells after they went ahead with their marriage despite the coronavirus lockdown measures. The 50 guests and the pastor were also arrested after police said that the wedding had taken place in KwaZulu-Natal despite the ban at public gatherings.
The groom was seen in a video helping his new wife get into a police car in her wedding dress shortly after the large arrest of Richards Bay in South Africa. The couple and their guests have yet to be named, but they will all appear in court on Monday. According to the Metro, the police spokesman said the couple were ‘spending their honeymoon under stringent bail conditions’.
