Alan shatter in the Dail: While the Taoiseach has defended Alan shatter over the recent Gardai mishandling controversy. Mick Wallace on the other hand publicly criticized the minister and called for his resignation. Shatter nonetheless defended his position in court today and announced that had not recalled a €1,000 donation from Oliver Connolly when he appointed him to the position of Garda confidential recipient. 

 Hold Up: A teenager has been arrested by Gardai in Dublin and they held up a store on the botanic avenue in Drumcondra with a fake gun. 

 Toddy Dooley murder: Three men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Tom Dooley in Edenderry earlier this month.

 Cannabis seizure: Four people have been arrested in connection with the seizure of €250,000 worth of cannabis. 

 Lee Rigby: Two men have been sentenced to life in prison and 45 years in prison for the violent murder of British soldier Lee Rigby. 

 Man shot in Antrim: A man has been shot in the arms and legs in Belfast. Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward. 

 Peter Robinson threats: First minister of Ireland Peter Robinson has threatened to leave the government due to the Hyde park case. 

 Nigeria: 58 students have been killed in a violent fire attack on a school in Nigeria. 

 Bitcom: US and Japanese authorities have begun to investigating the MtGox bitcoin exchange after the website went dark leading to a huge loss for investors.
