No haircuts, restaurants or non-essential shops until the summer at least, claims Varadkar

Welcome to Ireland 2021. There’s been absolute uproar on social media after the Tanaiste said that there’s going to be a very long wait before any sense of normality returns from this nightmare.

According to Leo Varadkar, non-essential retail won’t reopen until late April or May at the very earliest, with hospitality likely to only reopen in the summer.

The roadmap to lift the restrictions will be revealed in the first week of April, according to the Taoiseach.

However, Micheal Martin said that restrictions will now remain in place until the middle of May.

There’s been major blowback though, with even a hashtag EndTheLockdown trending around Ireland opposing the continuation of the so-called “draconian restriction measures”.

It’s now looking likely that people won’t get their haircut, go to a restaurant or even a non-essential shop until the summertime thanks to Micheal Martin, Leo Varadkar and Eamon Ryan.
