Minister for Health Leo Varadkar has confirmed that there are no plans to begin screening for Ebola at any Irish airport.

While he agrees that more efficient action is needed to tackle the deadly outbreak, he added, he believes that screening travelers upon departing Ebola hot zones is the most appropriate response for now.

The current outbreak has infected over 9,000 people thus far and killed just under half that number.
