Up to 3,000 people are taking part in water charges protests today all over the country.
Around 1,000 people are taking part in a protest in Ennis, Co. Clare, while a further 2,000 people are taking part in a protest in Cork.
More protests are planned in the coming weeks in Drogheda, Galway.
Another national protest is planned in Dublin on November 1st.
