The US Powerball jackpot grew to a whopping $1.9 billion after no one won yesterday’s record jackpot.
The winning numbers were 28, 45, 53, 56 and 69, with a Powerball of 20.
Without the ticket to match all five numbers and the Powerball, the jackpot is stretched with a $1.9 billion first-place prize up for grabs in tomorrow’s drawing, organizers said.
The Powerball jackpot is the largest ever rolled over, surpassing the already record $1.6 billion that went unclaimed in yesterday’s drawing.
The odds of winning the jackpot remain 1 in 292.2 million, organizers said. If there are duplicate winners selecting the same number combination, they will share the jackpot.
While no one claimed the grand prize, 16 tickets matched all five main numbers to win $1 million each.
Buying a Powerball ticket costs $2, and a winner can choose a flat-rate payout, calculated for tomorrow’s jackpot at $929 million. Or they could opt for payments over 29 years.
