North Korea’s internet blackout continues intermittently

Though nobody is sure of who, or what, is behind North Korea’s seriously impaired access to the internet over the last few days, the country’s world wide woes continue.

There have been two complete blackouts this week, one on Monday lasting over nine hours, and one yesterday afternoon, this one lasting for about half an hour.

Most citizens in the secretive country do not have access to the web however, only a few ‘elite’ people do, so if the event turns out to be a retaliatory move in response to Sony’s hack, the effectiveness of it would be quite limited.

Only a handful of computers and mobile phones in North Korea enjoy full access to the web.
