Mo Robinson, the Northern Ireland man who was driving the truck inside which 39 migrants lost their lives, has appeared in court via video link today.
The 25-year-old is facing a number of charges, including manslaughter, conspiracy to traffic people, conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration, and money laundering. Mr. Robinson has been remanded in custody until November 25, when he will issue a plea.
He could receive a lengthy prison sentence if convicted.
Three other people have been arrested in connection with the Essex tragedy.
