The cost of travelling is going to be a lot more expensive for public transport users after the National Transport Authority confirmed that fares will increase from the beginning of next month.
It is understood the hikes will a
effect up to a quarter of passengers who travel by Luas, Irish Rail, Bus Eireann and Dublin Bus, with some fares being increased by 18% on a number of journeys.
The NTA say the changes were being implemented due to the introduction of a distance-based structure on fares.
