A large number of fearless fire crew are working hard right through the night to get the fire under control in the Notre Dame Cathedral.
An enormous fire broke out around 5pm Irish time on Monday with extensive damage done. Sadly, the spire and roof of the Cathedral collapsed inward onto itself destroying most of the roof.
Interior damage is hopefully not as bad as suspected with some of the original structure salvageable.
President Macron has vowed to rebuild the beautiful Catholic Cathedral to its full former glory.
