US President Barack Obama has said”enough is enough” following the latest incident of gun violence in the US. “We have to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them. Period. Enough is enough,” Obama said in a statement.
He revealed that the shooter, identified as Robert Lewis Dear (57) who killed three people and wounded nine yesterday used a military-style assault rifle. The gunman held hostages at an abortion centre in Colorado Springs.
Two civilians and one police officer were killed in the incident. The stand-off between police and the gunman took place in heavy snow in Colarado. A gun battle ensued with the gunman surrendering to the Police about five hours later.
