There are various reports circulating this morning of major unrest within the Fianna Fáil party.

The news comes as party deputy Eamon O’Cuiv, claims that the party has had an “absolute collapse in self-belief”. Mr O’Cuiv made his remarks during an interview with the Sunday Independent. Mr O’Cuiv’s comments follows a rather unsettling week for party the leader Micháel Martin as he is facing severe pressure from party backbenchers if they do not win in the upcoming Carlow/Kilkenny by-election.

Mr O’Cuiv claims that Fianna Fail seriously need to urgently improve its standing with voters.
The party has remained unchanged in the latest opinion polls with figures showing support of just 18%.
