There will be a markedly increased Garda presence on the country’s roads tomorrow as ‘Operation Slow Down’ is launched.

Gardai say that an intensive national speed enforcement operation will begin tomorrow morning, and will remain in place for 24 hours.

This operation is a joint initiative between the Road Safety Authority and other stakeholders, and its goal is to remind drivers of the inherent dangers of speeding and encourage them to respect speed limits, thus reducing the number of speed-related accidents and fatalities.

‘Slow Down’ will commence at 7am tomorrow morning, with a highly visible number of Gardai, speed cameras, and speed vans on national primary and secondary roads around the country.
