After hearing all the closing arguments from both sides, judge Thokozile Masipa adjourned the court session until next week. The accused will learn his fate on Tuesday at 9:30am (8:30am Irish Time).
Pistorius was found guilty of ‘culpable homicide’ (manslaughter), after the killing of his then girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, whom he says he mistook for an intruder.
The prosecution is calling for a ten-year jail sentence for his crime. In a scathing last-minute speech, prosecutor Gerrie Nel said that ‘the minimum sentence that society would be happy with is 10 years.’
