The German public have been left shocked and outraged after an Afghan migrant who was arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl was released after being detained for just 12 days, then went on to rape a 13-year-old girl just five weeks later the Daily Mail has reported.
The 23-year-old Afghan migrant, named only as Zubyr S to protect his identity, was arrested for raping an 11-year-old German girl in June but authorities decided to release him ahead of trial as they claimed there was āno evidence he was likely to re-offendā.
Police had determined that the man was not likely to reoffend of try to escape, releasing him from their custody on July 3rd .
Now it is alleged that he lured a 13-year-old girl into a corridor and raped her, leading to his second arrest when the girl described him to investigators, just five weeks after his first attack.
Speaking to Bild, Prosecutor Boerge Klepping said the two alleged rapes in the city of Dortmund were āsimilar incidentsā.
