Outrageous: Road tolls are increasing again in January

The head of the Road Transport Association said the increased fees on ten routes across the country will “orce hauliers to avoid the tolls as much as possible,” reports RTE.

Toll charges will rise from the new year on ten routes across the country, including the M50 and the Dublin Tunnel

Starting Jan. 1, tolls for most passenger vehicles will increase by 20 cents per toll, and tolls for heavy goods vehicles will increase by 30-50 cents, reports RTE.

On the M1, M7, M8, N6, N25 Waterford and N18 Limerick Tunnel motorways, the vehicle toll increases by 20 cents to €2.30.

Prices rose by 10 cents to €1.70 on the M3 and by 20 cents to €3.40 for passenger cars on the M4.

The Dublin Tunnel toll for passenger vehicles will increase by €2 during peak hours, a move Transport Infrastructure Ireland said was aimed at maintaining “capacity for heavy goods vehicles accessing Dublin Port”, reports RTE.
