Critics are objecting to the implementation of round-the-clock security patrols along Dublin’s Grand Canal, reports Breaking News.

People Before Profit feels that this is what the government is doing rather than giving them a nice place to live indoors, reports Breaking News.
Paul Murphy, the party’s TD, called it a waste of public money.
Mr Murphy told Newstalk: “This is another scandalous waste of public money. Waterways Ireland is now spending €30,000 per week on the fencing, to fence off our public space. Now they’re adding 24-hour security which is going to cost thousands on top of that, all for what purpose?” reports Breaking News.
