Overcrowding hits historic records across Irish hospitals, and it’s only three days into the new year

Barely three days into the new year, and overcrowding is already hitting historic records across Irish hospitals.

According to the latest figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO), there were 931 people suffering on trolleys today. This figure easily topples the previous record of 760, which was established in December.

University Hospital Limerick once again tops the list of shame, with 97 people.

Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly is yet to make any statement about the dire state of the Irish health system. Earlier today, people were told to skip A&Es for their own good and take their chances elsewhere.
