Gardai in Dublin have begun an investigation after a woman tried to lure a young girl into a car by offering her sweets.
According to Dublin Live, the alleged incident occurred on Monday April 1st, on the Woodbine Road, in Donnybrook.
It is believed that the girl who was walking behind her grandmother at the time was approached by a woman in car.
The incident which has prompted an alert on social media was reported by the girl’s father who said there was also someone crouching in the back of the car.
In the post the girl’s father said thankfully his daughter avoided a potentially serious incident after her grandmother stepped in.
Gardai say they have been made aware of the incident and an investigation is currently ongoing.
