Paris terrorist attack: 40 dead and up to 100 still in a hostage situation in major terrorist attack on the French capital

A set of shootings and explosions have hit Paris tonight.It all started during the France vs Germany friendly football match tonight. French police also say there is also an ongoing hostage situation of up to 100 people currently taking place. Here’s a running tally of what we do and don’t know about the reported Paris violence:

What we know:

Two explosions have been reported near the Stade de France, a soccer stadium near Paris.
At the time of the reported explosions, the German and French football teams were playing a match. France’s president, François Hollande, was in attendance and has since declared a National emergency and has closed all borders in both Paris and France itself.
After the match, police asked fans to stay in the stadium, where they milled around the field.
Up to 60 people have already been shot, reputedly one by one. It started in a restaurant in the centre of Paris.
There are also reports of sword attacks the multiple attacks around the city.

This is an on-going situation and so far no one has claimed responsiblity.

There are also reports of shootings near La Louvre.
