Pfizer beings testing its vaccine in younger children, eventually in babies as young as 6-months-old

Pfizer will enroll 4,500 children in a study that will eventually include children up to 6 months of age. Previous studies looked at children 12 years of age and older.

Medical experts are claiming that it’s important to test vaccines specifically in children to make sure they are safe and effective in the youngest members of society, so that ultimately everyone is eligible for the vaccine. Get a vaccine that could save your life.

The study is also important in protecting children from severe COVID-19 infection or complications of infection, said Dr. Emmanuel Walter, medical director of the Duke Human Vaccine Institute. Duke University is one of many medical centers participating in the Pfizer study.
