Plans to build another large Mosque and Islamic Centre, this time in Kilkenny City, have been defeated in what is being hailed as a triumph of people power against the arrayed forces establishment politics, political correctness and leftist panderers.

The plan to construct the Mosque in the Hebron Road Industrial estate were first uncovered by editor of the Kilkenny Journal Michael McGrath and the struggle on behalf of the people against the plans was then also taken up by local man Eugene McGuinnes.

Both McGrath and McGuinnes are candidates in Kilkenny in the upcoming local elections.

Other candidates Luke O’Connor and Melisa O’Neil also courageously spoke up on behalf of Kilkenny’s citizens despite the vitriol they would face from keyboard warriors on twitter.

As in other places, such as Blanchardstown where the construction of a huge Islamic centre in the Corduff area was approved despite the overwhelming opposition of the local residents and business owners, all establishment parties in Kilkenny dismissed and derided locals fears about the Mosque.

The Mosque’s construction in the Medieval Town of Kilkenny which was granted by Kilkenny council in a flurry of virtue signalling was overturned by An Bord Pleanala on Wednesday.

Four of Kilkenny’s councillors, Malcolm Noonan (Green party) , Andrew McGuinness (FF) and David Kennedy and Sean Tyrrell (Sinn Fein) had approved the Mosque despite the opposition from their own constituents .

Citizens in Kilkenny have expressed their relief that the massive Mosque and Islamic Centre will no longer be built as they were concerned with who was providing the funds for its construction and local business owners concerned about traffic and noise have also expressed their relief.
