According to reports it is believed that officers from the PSNI and British Army are currently attending the scene of a security alert in East Belfast.
Officers were called to the scene after the discovery of a suspicious object on the Ballymacarrett Road.
Police say that the Sydenham Bypass has been closed to all traffic in both directions and the train service at the Titanic Quarter has also been closed.
